Speaking: Describe Image: Tips and Strategiess
This question of the Speaking section requires you to analyze an image and speak about it. You will be given 25 seconds to see the image and prepare your response. Then, you will hear a tone after which you must start speaking immediately. You have to talk about the image in 40 seconds. Do not start speaking before the tone as it will not be recorded.

IMPORTANT: If you remain silent for longer than 3 seconds, the recording will stop.
Scoring: Your score for this question is based on three factors:
- 1. Content: Make sure you include all aspects of the image in your response. You should include logical and specific information about the image along with possible developments, conclusions, or implications.
- 2. Oral fluency: You need to be fluent in your speech. There will be a negative impact of hesitation, repetition, and a false start on your score.
- 3. Pronunciation:Make sure you use words that are easily understandable by native speakers.
Tips and strategies to answer Describe Image
- 1. Focus on the image: When you see the image, try to find the mind idea. Write these points on a notepad and use them to make sentences when recording the answer.
- 2. Organize your response: A well-organized response is scored better. If you include the main idea of the image along with supporting details implications and conclusions, you will get a better score. An introduction is also necessary when building a response.
- 3. Practice: You must practice taking brief notes with only keywords. This will help in enhancing your vocabulary and speed. You may also want to practice with different types of images to gain confidence.
- 4. Be clear and fluent: Make sure that you do not hesitate while speaking. A clear and well-spoken response is always scored well.
