CELPIP Test Format

Listening

• About 50 minutes long test Has 6 parts; each part loaded with a 1 to 3 minutes long conversation (video in Part 5)
• Each conversation followed by 3 to 8 questions.
• Take notes as questions can't be seen while the audio is being played.
• Answer each question in 30 seconds
• Questions in Multiple Choice & Fill in the blanks format
• For MCQs the questions played in audio form also with choices on the screen.
• Fill in the blanks in the sentence displayed on the screen; answers to be picked from the choices in drop down menus.
• See the video carefully along with listening for video-based conversations.

Reading

• AAbout 40 minutes long Has 4 parts
• Text & questions displayed simultaneously
• Read the text and answer questions for each part in 10 minutes
• There can also be picture based tasks
• Mainly MCQs and fill up the blank type questions with drop down menu.

Writing

• There are 2 tasks here
• Task 1 is letter/ email writing for the given set-up; word count must be 150 to 200 Finish the task in 27 minutes
• Task 2 is 150 to 200 words long essay writing Finish task 2 in 26 minutes

Speaking

There are 8 Tasks which have the questions based on daily conversation, advice, difficult situations and image description.
